42 year old female that suffered a gun shot to her dominant hand. She suffered injuries to several bones of the hand and wrist, the tendon that controls extension of the thumb was destroyed, and there was nerve damage that gave her debilitating phantom pain. All these injuries in addition to the wound put her at risk of loosing her hand. With his extensive experience in Plastic, Reconstructive & cosmetic surgery Dr. Dee was able to restore a functional hand that was aesthetically pleasing. Multiple operations were required using tendons, bone, muscle and skin taken from other parts of the patient’s body in order to rebuild her hand. She has been so satisfied with her outcome and care she received that she has returned to see and referred her family to see Dr. Chattar-Cora for both cosmetic and reconstructive surgery.
